Perturbation – it’s not a word that’s used very often.

It is a human experience – and it’s not taught in school, and most are not lucky enough to have parents that understand it.

It’s my intention to ensure that you can understand the concept, and most importantly, be able to identify it and be aware that it is happening to you.

Because it has already happened to you and is happening often.  If you are aware of it, you can use it to your advantage.

Perturbation is a process of change occurring at a cellular structural level. It is permanent change taking place at the energetic level of your existence as a being.

The best example I can give you of a time in your life when you experienced Perturbation was when you learned how to ride a bicycle.

When the training wheels were removed from your bike it was a totally different experience.

All of a sudden, you were forced to deal with pedal speed, forward velocity, steering, balance, and direction all at the same time.

You fell off and scraped your knee.  Often.

Someone would hold the back of your seat and just when you thought you had it, they would let go and you’d land on your elbow.

It hurt.

You may have felt embarrassed.

There were loads of emotions…

And then it happened – all of a sudden, that magic moment occurred when you realized ‘I’ve got it!  I can do it!  I’m riding my bicycle!’

And once that moment happened, you have never forgotten how to ride a bicycle.  Even if you don’t ride for 10 years, you can still pick up your bike and go for a lap around the block.

This is the magic of Perturbation – once you have Perturbated through something, you can not unlearn it.  It has become a part of you.

A mind once stretched by a new idea can not regain its original dimensions.

I think this is a great example of Perturbation.

One of the things about Perturbation is that by its very nature, it has levels of discomfort in it.  From my experience and observation, the amount of pain you feel has an inverse relationship with your willingness to experience discomfort.  See my blog post on Comfort Zones for more info on that.

A different example of Perturbation is the process of an acorn turning into an Oak tree.  That is some serious perturbation over a very long time.  And look at how strong they become!

The point is, Perturbation develops strength and ability.  It can be uncomfortable to go through.

This understanding gave me a whole new way of looking at the challenges I’ve experienced in my life.
